"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" Comes to Saint Paul

TJB Homes, Inc. accepts another chance to make family dream a reality

SAINT PAUL - Mayor Chris Coleman announced today that the City of Saint Paul will be partnering with TJB Homes, Inc on an upcoming build for ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. TJB Homes, Inc built a home in 2007 for the Swenson-Lee family of Minnetonka, and was recently chosen again by the popular television program to oversee and implement an intense one-week build of a new home that will change the life of a deserving Saint Paul family. While the announcement of the family and the location of the home site will not be announced until October 2nd, one of five families in the Saint Paul community will be selected as the recipient of a new home - and a life changing gift.

"We are grateful that a Saint Paul family will be selected receive a new home," Mayor Chris Coleman said. "Ultimately the impact of this project is greater than one family and will benefit the entire community. We recognize the commitment that TJB Homes, Inc and thousands of volunteers will make in this effort."

TJB Homes, Inc. a family-run business, will coordinate the thousands of local trades, businesses, and volunteers to make this an exciting experience for a family and the community. "Having the opportunity to help another deserving family is awe-inspiring to be a part of," said Tom Budzynski, owner of TJB Homes, Inc. "We know there is a lot of hard work ahead of us and we are going to face some additional challenges during this difficult economic time, but we are confident that we can bring a team together who understands the positive effect this project has on a family and a community."

All products and labor must be donated, TJB Homes, Inc is requesting volunteers from the community to provide their time, support and resources to help ensure the success of this life-altering project. SAINT PAUL - A pep rally for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Harriet Island Pavilion in Saint Paul, will bring together volunteers who will help build a new home that will change the life of a deserving family in Saint Paul starting Oct. 2.

TJB Homes Inc., a local builder chosen to oversee and implement the intense one-week construction of a new home, is hosting the pep rally at Harriet Island. Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman along with Tom Budzynski, CEO of TJB Homes Inc., and Conrad Rickets, executive producer of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, will welcome volunteers and share information about the upcoming project and how the community can participate.
